    Italian Opera Study Abroad Inc.

For the past 15 years, the Italian Opera Study Abroad Inc. (IOSA Inc.) has provided a once

in a lifetime opportunity for aspiring singers to study opera and vocal technique in

Italy. This experience has been proven to be highly successful and has propelled several

IOSA Inc. alumni into successful careers as opera singers, gospel singers, inspirational

singers and music educators.

Each student  must be currently enrolled in a college or University and is selected based on

a successful audition, interview, and three recommendations by their current professors.

They will study with vocal coaches, opera singers, and professors for one month in Italy.

Not only is this program an educational one, but also a cultural one. The students 

will experience art, culture and meet people from around the world while traveling

to various cities, countries while exploring the vast history it has to offer.

Students who are selected must complete an application online as well as complete a vocal

audition and interview.

IOSA Inc. Vocal Study Abroad

The IOSA Inc. Vocal Study Abroad program is a vocal study abroad program designed for

young talented singers ages 10- 17. Students who are interested apply online and complete

an audition and interview successfully as well as complete three teacher references.

Students will study various types of music including: opera, gospel, spirituals, and jazz. The

main focus of the study will be vocal technique and understanding the voice. This two week

program will be taught by Italian Soprano Maria Billeri, International Soprano Lynn Mackie

& Dr. Wayne Barr, choral director & IOSA Inc. program assistant director.
